Search Engine Help
Once you have your Website set up it does not stop there. You need to be found on the Internet via search engines in order for new customers to find you. Firstly, you should check that your site contains relevant keywords for what your customers are looking for. The best way to do this is Keyword Checker. This is a free server which gives you suggested keywords for words you enter. Once you have relevant keywords, make a page for each set of keywords and as well as mentioning the keywords a few times in the main text of the site, also ensure your MetaTags are declaring the keywords too. After you have put keywords onto the page, you also need to set up the MetaTags on each page, this is to include a Description, a page Title and also search parameters such as Keywords and how you want search engine to scan you pages. A good checking tool is at SiteSubmitExpress. As well as a MetaTags analyser there are lots of other tools and articles on making your website more search friendly. Finally you need to submit your website to the search engines. You can do this manually by going to each individual Search Engine website and entering your details. Alternatively, you can fill in the form below and have your site submitted to the main search engines in one go. Before doing so, we would recommend that you set up a unique e-mail address to catch the spam that Search engines send you once submitted. Set up an e-mail address submit@yoursite.com and then use this to control incoming e-mail. As well as spam from search engines you will also get emails you need to respond to in order to complete the submission.
To monitor how your webpage is on Google, go to Google.com and search for toolbar. Install the Google toolbar which will also prevent you from getting annoying pop-ups from websites and show you your page rank. Page Rank is important and we strongly suggest you check this periodically to ensure your site is listed in Google. Finally, we suggest you swapping links with other sites to then bring your page up on search engines.
